Together we look forward to working with you and providing delicious fresh food for your family, business and social events.
Our Banner
The coloured flags seen across the top of our logo are symbolic of the Buddhist prayer flags which represent fire, earth, sun & water. As the wind blows through these flags blessings are sent across the land. These flags are commonly seen through out Nepal and like the blessings we hope to spread incredible whole foods across this land.
Our Momos at the Market
We feel strongly about being a part of the Western FairĀ Farmers & Artisans Market located on the Western Fair Grounds. There is an incredible and eceletic group of people, products and services which, together with visitors and customers have created a really special community.
Momos at the Market has grown in size, menu, clients & friends as well as presence at the Western Fair Farmers & Artisans Market. From our simple beginnings with a couple of portable stoves Momos at the Market has grown and changed to bring you more and more fresh hand made Nepalese food made with wholesome and healthy ingredients. In addition to our well known momos you can also rely on Yam’s Chicken Curry & Vegetarian Curry dishes, the newly added fresh rolls, spring rolls and satays. A freshly juiced fruit & veggie juice or a cup of sweet milk based Nepali tea is a perfect finish to a satisfying meal.
The current market has been housed in the Western Fair’s Confederation Building since December 2006 and it has grown in the number of vendors and customers every year since then. The building which was originally built in 1927 is continually being rejuvenated with the introduction of new vendors & products at the Farmer’s & Artisan’s Market. The renewal of the market seems to mirror the renewal of London’s Old East Village neighbourhood itself. The current Farmers Market first started by Wim Overbeek in December 2006 was taken over by Dave Cook in November 2008.
Dave Cook who was a vendor at the market at that time is also the owner and operator of the Fire Roasted Coffee Company (FRC) a mainstay operation at the Western Fair Farmers Market. The newly renovated cafe space upstairs is a great place to enjoy your Momos at the Market lunch. In addition to two cafe spaces in the market FRC has its entire coffee roasting operation in its second floor space at the Confederation building.
In addition to Nepali food and amazing coffee our co-vendors and friends have so much to offer including fresh baked goods, organic fruit, vegetables, juices and food stuffs, fine home grown natural healing products, fresh meats, artisan cheeses, home made chocolates, sauces, mustards, maple syrup, unique teas and more. Not to mention the other fresh & ready food vendors, the seamstress and artisans upstairs with books, photograghy, art, jewelery, stone work, antiques, hand bags and incredible paintings.
As I said the Western Fair Farmers and Artisans Market is an amazing place. A visit to the market will fill your food basket, satisfy your appetite and slow down your week to include time with great people and friends. See you at Momos at the Market.
